POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Community Engagement Manager is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic engagement and expansion of APIAHF’s National Network of community-based organizations (CBOs). This position leads the development and execution of innovative, high-impact community engagement strategies that elevate APIAHF’s mission and foster long-term, sustainable relationships with a broad array of stakeholders. The Senior Community Engagement Manager will play a pivotal role in setting the vision for community outreach, managing complex grant programs, and providing strategic guidance to internal and external partners. As the face and voice of APIAHF, this individual will be integral in shaping APIAHF’s national network and driving its mission forward.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead efforts to strengthen and expand APIAHF’s National Network of community-based organizations (CBOs) through the cultivation of new partnerships and the enhancement of existing relationships with AANHPI and other diverse, underserved communities. Provide guidance on aligning engagement activities with APIAHF’s strategic goals and mission.
Lead the development and implementation of large-scale, high-impact community engagement programs, including those that advance the visibility and capacity of National Network partners. Drive innovation in program design to meet emerging community needs.
Oversee the management and strategic direction of diverse programs supporting CBOs, ensuring alignment with APIAHF’s mission and that programs are effectively deployed to achieve measurable community impact. Lead the development of funding proposals and partner collaboration to secure sustainable resources.
Provide expert-level technical assistance and capacity-building support to National Network partners, including training programs, workshops, and strategic planning. Identify opportunities to improve CBO operations and community impact through tailored interventions and leadership development.
Serve as a key spokesperson and advocate for APIAHF’s community engagement initiatives, representing the organization at national and regional events, conferences, and forums. Collaborate with senior leadership to influence policy, advance advocacy priorities, and elevate APIAHF’s presence and thought leadership.
Lead the development of comprehensive evaluation frameworks for community engagement initiatives, ensuring outcomes are measurable, impactful, and aligned with APIAHF’s objectives. Regularly analyze engagement metrics and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.
Cultivate and maintain high-level relationships with national and local stakeholders, including government agencies, foundations, and other strategic partners. Foster collaborative efforts to ensure shared resources, collective impact, and long-term sustainability of the National Network.
Oversee the creation and dissemination of culturally and linguistically appropriate community education materials and resources. Ensure that all communication strategies are aligned with the needs of the communities served and adhere to APIAHF’s messaging and brand guidelines.
Manage and oversee the National Network database, ensuring accurate and timely tracking of engagement activities, partnerships, and funding allocations. Ensure that all community-based organization activities are effectively planned, executed, and evaluated.Program Leadership & Strategy.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Bachelor’s Degree in social justice, public health, sociology, political science, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in community engagement, outreach, or advocacy work, with a focus on supporting marginalized, underserved, or underrepresented communities.
Extensive experience in community organizing, building relationships with community-based organizations (CBOs), and fostering partnerships that advance community-led initiatives and systemic change.
At least 2 years in a leadership or senior advisory role, leading efforts to engage diverse community stakeholders, including conducting needs assessments, mobilizing resources, and designing programs to address community needs.
Proven track record in managing multi-stakeholder projects, including community education, grant management, advocacy campaigns, and other initiatives that require strong communication and coordination across various partners.
Expertise in developing and delivering community engagement strategies that amplify the voices and perspectives of communities, especially those from marginalized racial, ethnic, or socio-economic backgrounds.

Exceptional writing and research skills;
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and,
Demonstrated facilitation and organizational skills.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated interest or experience working with AANHPI, diverse and underserved communities;
Demonstrated experience in program coordination and management;
Familiarity with social media platforms and project management; and,
Experience with community engagement, technical assistance, or grassroots advocacy.
